你身處的是Colette’s。這裏是牛奶公司的本地員工宿舍。當時一般兩層高的建築物，通常都是下層作店鋪或倉庫，上層住人。在這宿舍住的員工，包括香港原居民，以及從內地輸入的勞工。英治時期，政府曾限制本地人在中環居住，牛奶公司為他們的員工提供居所，值得嘉許。

You’re now at Colette’s. This space was a dormitory for local workers. At that time, it was common for a two-storey building to have shops or storerooms on the lower floor and a residence on the upper floor. Some of the Dairy Farm Company’s workers, including local Hong Kongers and imported workers from Mainland China, lived in this dormitory. Under British rule, there were restrictions on local people living in Central, so we think it’s admirable that the company provided accommodation for its local workers.
